New Friends

Parker was outside playing on Sunday night and these boys came over and tried talking to him and wanted to play.  At first Parker was really unsure and didn't really want much to do with them, but they quickly got him to join them.  It was so cute watching them all play together.  Parker had a basketball out there and one of the older boys started playing 500 with them while they stood in the gazebo.  That didn't last long as you may imagine, but then Parker and this little boy had tons of fun chasing each other up and down this little hill.  He wouldn't tell us his name, but he is so dang cute!

My Crib is here!!!

My new crib has arrived, and we just got it all put together yesterday.  Isn't it so pretty?  I am so excited.  I walk into the room  several times a day to stare at it in wonder.  With Parker, we used my parents' crib that me and my siblings grew up in.  It was a nice crib, but very old, and I finally decided to splurge and get a nice new crib for this baby.  I looked at nearly every crib made before deciding on this one, and I could not be happier with it!  I also had a hard time deciding on bedding.  There were lots of others that I loved, but this is the one I went with.   Now all we need is for baby to arrive!

Make it dark

Parker has recently discovered a new game he likes to call "make it dark".  He loves to find any blanket that he can climb under and play in.  I haven't really figured out where the excitement in it is.  He seems to never get bored of it.  Sometimes he just wants his little blue blanket to cover him while laying on the couch, or sometimes he likes to bring my Myrtle blanket out.  Often we have to follow him to his bedroom so he can climb under his quilt on the bed. Last week we even had to have our Family Home Evening lesson with all three of us huddled under the blanket.  I don't get it, he's just a strange little guy!

A couple days ago, while playing with his dad, I walked into the living room to find him buried under his little blanket....
...I uncovered him to find him playing with nearly every car he owns under the blanket!  Again, I say, he is a strange kid.

I know he looks HUGE in this picture, but I think it must just be a funny angle, because he is not that big!
Here's him and his dad reading their nightly Book of Mormon story before bed.

Future Pro!

Last weekend we took Parker to a Putt-Putt Golf course.  He was so cute dancing and running around everywhere.  He had a ball.

After a while, he decided hitting the ball with the golf club wasn't as fun as just throwing the ball to the hole, or as you see here, just dropping it in.  He also tried scooting it in with the club, and kicking it.
This was at hole 11, he was so worn out, he had to sit and take a break.  I guess it felt good to rest, because after he sat down, he refused to get up and keep golfing.

He didn't really like sitting on the giraffe because it was so hot, so he wouldn't get on the zebra.
Trying to hide my belly.. did it work?
Parker and Daddy
A little evidence of how hot it was out there.   The poor kid was dripping in sweat!

When I saw this, we decided to go into the arcade and take a break from the sun.

Here are the boys racing bikes.

Memory Game

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Miscellaneous Pics

I just have a few random pictures I thought I would post.  Nothing too exciting, but here they are.

One night when we were sitting down eating dinner, and Parker decided out of nowhere, that he wanted some cake.  We couldn't really make him forget, so after dinner, we ran to the grocery store and picked him up a piece of cake. He was so excited to come home and have his cake.  I have no idea what made him think he needed cake, but he was so sweet about it, I couldn't tell him no. So this is him making a mess of it.
Riding the airplane at the mall. and below is just a cute picture of him sleeping so peacefully.

We went to this baby store so I could look at their cribs and their bedding, and Parker was so excited about all the stuffed animals they had there.  He found a monkey and started making monkey sounds so loud.  It was pretty cute, and the ladies behind the counter got a kick out of it.  He got way excited about this panda bear as well.  As soon as he saw it, he picked it up and started yelling, "Kung Fu Panda"! I couldn't quit laughing.

Here he is playing on this cute little table at the baby store.  He loved it, and it was tough to get him off of it.

There's a Nightmare in my Closet

preschooled07-20.gif

Parker has a new favorite book.  Actually, "favorite" doesn't  really do it justice.  It's more of an obsession!  He wants to read it nonstop.  I don't understand what it is about it, but he never seems to get sick of it.  He now has to take it with him whenever we leave the house.  As we walk out to go shopping or even play outside, he always says, "I bring my nightmare."  He talks about it at church or in other public places, and I'm sure people wonder what he's talking about.  In sacrament meeting he was crying asking where his nightmare was.  I want my nightmare, he kept saying.  I told him it was home and he asked if I would go get it.  I'm sure people in church were wondering what his nightmare is.

We have read it so much, he is starting to memorize it.  IT's so cute!  I can start the sentence, and on almost every page, he can finish it for me.  My dad always tells me this is an important part in kids learning to read, so as much as I'm starting to hate the dumb book, I think it's probably good for him, and I think it's cute that he loves it so much, so I don't really fight him much.

So, I'm wondering if any of your kids have favorite books, or if you can remember a favorite book you had as a child.  I would like to know about it.
