Happy Half Birthday Kaeson!

I cannot believe that my baby is six months old today.  It is so fun to watch him grow, and see him discover new things, but it makes me so sad that he is growing up so fast.  I wish they could stay little forever!
So, in honor of Kaeson's half birthday, we decided to give him a haircut!  As you can see here, he desperately needed it! I love that he has had two haircuts by the time he is six months old! I did it myself, and I should have known better, since I have no idea what I'm doing!  But for some reason, I would rather take the risk of me messing it up than trust someone else to do it.  It's not great, but it grows so fast, it doesn't really matter!

Milestones

I haven't updated in forever, so there is a lot of old news to catch up on.  Just kidding not really anything exciting to anyone but me!  First of all, Parker has become an artist as of late. Exhibit A:

While we were eating dinner many many nights ago, Parker created this masterpiece work of art that he was VERY proud of.

Here is Kaeson about a month ago, when he first learned to pull himself up on all fours.  We tried to catch it, but this was after he was done.  He now does it a lot, but we haven't gotten the camera out to photograph the real thing, so this is the best we've got.
Below, we have finally given in and started feeding him a little bit of solid foods.  We started with cereal about two weeks ago, but I wasn't convinced he was all that ready for it, so I put it off a little longer.  Finally last night, we gave him some squash, and he did a lot better with it than the cereal.  Apparently, he just didn't care that much for the cereal.
He is sitting up like a pro!  This picture was actually taken about three weeks ago, and he is sitting up a lot better now.  He sits while he reaches all over for toys, and is even starting to turn circles while sitting!
He has also learned to roll over, but he only usually does it in his crib!  He rolls over in his sleep a lot and then wakes up because he doesn't like sleeping on his back, so we have to roll him back over a lot.  He has only figured out how to roll from his stomach so far- not the other way around yet.

We also have a strange milestone to report for Parker.  He has recently decided he likes to sleep only in his Pack 'n Play!  He begs every day to sleep in there, and suddenly hates his big bed.  He is way too old for sleeping in a pack 'n play if you ask me, but it just doesn't seem worth the fight right now, so I have been letting him do it.  Some day soon I am going to have to put my foot down, but for now, I am letting it go.

Pay it Forward

I got this idea from my friend Vandi and was lucky enough to be one of the first three to leave a comment....and therefore get a hand made gift from her. So here's how it works if you want to play.

Pay It Forward Exchange is based on the concept of the movie "Pay it forward". I will send a hand made gift to the first three people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join the PIF exchange. All the gifts will be made and posted out 'sometime within the next year'. How exciting to not know when your surprise package will arrive! What you need to do in return, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. This Exchange is only open to those with active websites or blogs. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PROMISE TO POST THIS SAME 'PAY IT FORWARD' MESSAGE ONTO YOUR BLOG, WHICH MUST BE ACTIVE IN ORDER TO PLAY. YOU WILL PAY IT FORWARD TO THREE PEOPLE WHO COMMENT ON YOUR BLOG. I'd love for you to join me! Will you? Other comments are welcome, but only the first three will be my Pay It Forward recipients. Come and join me who doesn't love a gift or giving gifts???
