Thunder

This last Saturday was Louisville's Annual Thunder Over Louisville, that is the official kick-off to Derby Festival. It is a HUGE fireworks show that is incredible! This year they predict there were about 700,000 people who headed down to the Waterfront to take part in the marvelous event. There is also an air show during the afternoon and evening to help keep the crowd entertained all day. This year, we left the house at about 9 am to start our day of Thunder. We spent the ENTIRE day down there braving the crowd! IT was a lot of fun hanging out with friends and enjoying the beautiful weather. The kids did great, but it was a long day for them, and they were exhausted by the time it was all said and done!
These pictures are in a pretty random order, so sorry!

About fifteen minutes before the fireworks started, both the boys just couldn't keep their eyes open any longer! Kaeson miraculously slept through the entire fireworks show, but Parker did wake back up and watch. At that point, he was so tired, though that he really didn't enjoy it that much!

Our little family!

We put these ear muffs on Kaeson to help with the noise of the air show, since the F-16's are insanely loud and they scare all the kids! I was surprised at how much Kaeson loved them! Even when it wasn't loud, he kept putting them back on and he thought he was pretty cool in them!

We had a big load of stuff we brought with us, but you have to walk a ways so Parker just rode on top of everything. He thought it was great. (Until he fell off coming out that night)

Heather, Chelsea, Laura, Me, Janelle, and Katie hanging out earlier that day.

At about 3 o'clock, Kaeson finally gave in to his exhaustion and took a short nap through all the crazy noise of the air show. It didn't last long, but it seemed to be enough to get him through the day.

My cute little Parker! I was so proud of him, he was so good all day!

Kaeson cheesin' it up with the ear muffs.

We took a group shot, but unfortunately a few families had already gone home before we thought of it. So this is most of us who spent the day together. Not bad company!

Our Easter Weekend

We had a fun filled and exciting Easter weekend. We decided to take advantage of our beautiful spring weather and take the kids camping up at Taylorsville Lake. Other than a little rain Saturday morning, the weather was absolutely perfect and we had a great time. The kids had a blast. Parker talks about it everyday and asks when we can go camping again. They spent hours throwing rocks in the lake, playing at the playground, digging in the dirt, and playing in the tent. We came home Saturday, hunted Easter eggs, and had a delicious dutch oven dinner with friends. We dyed Easter eggs for family home evening on Monday night, and that too was a big hit. The boys both loved it. Kaeson threw his hands up in the air and cheered for himself after every egg he dyed or put a sticker on, then told his dad to throw it across the table. Happy Easter everyone!

When you're 19 months old...........

Conference is hard to get through!

I promise we were watching conference, but halfway through this session we lost our picture and just had to listen.

Parker is 4!!!!

I'm a little behind, but here are some pictures of Parker's 4th Birthday party last week. He somehow got it in his head that he had to have a party at Chuck E. Cheese with all his friends this year. I didn't get home from my trip to SV until the day before his birthday, so we weren't able to plan a lot, but we made a few last minute calls and were able to get a hold of a few friends who could make it. Parker was in heaven! He opened his presents there, had cake with all his friends, and then got to play play play the rest of the night. What more could a birthday boy ask for?! He had so much fun and talked about it for days afterward! Thanks to all who were able to celebrate with us! It is so hard to believe that my little Parker is already four years old! It feels like just yesterday, we brought him home from the hospital! He is growing up into such a sweet, lovable, helpful, wonderful little boy and we love him so much!

Puzzles Fun Dome

We had a coupon for Puzzles' Fun Dome, so on Saturday we decided to give it a try. Parker thinks it is his new favorite place. They have a whole bunch inflatable jumpers and slides, a toddler play area, glow in the dark basketball, arcades, mini golf, and an art room. Kaeson was not a big fan of the inflatables, but he loved the toddler play area and the mini golf. We had so much fun, we decided to buy a family membership so we can go back all the time. We've already been once this week! I think lots of people should get memberships and we could all go together all the time!

Here is Kaeson at the top of one of the inflatable slides. He wouldn't come down on his own, so Parker went up and gave him a little helpful push. He wasn't impressed.

Kaeson figured out the best way to get the golf ball in the hole is to just pick it up and put it in yourself!

Kaeson watched Parker so many times going headfirst, he thought he should give it a try on a slide his own size.

Parker LOVED the slides! He went down them a million times in every way possible.

It's a.....

We had our ultrasound today and found out the sex of our baby, and we are thrilled to announce that we are having a GIRL!!! I am still a little shocked, but so so excited! It's hard to even imagine life with a little girl around here, but it will be so great! Parker is very happy too! He has been pretty sure he only wanted a girl since we first told him we were going to have a baby. Now i need to go shopping!

Snow Day!

Yesterday we got a little snowstorm, so school was cancelled. Lance had to study all day, but he was able to take a little break and build a snowman with the kids. I stayed in the warm house and captured the memories!

Parker all bundled up for the cold.

Kaeson in his layers of coats!

My three cute boys!

Parker helping dad dress the snowman. Kaeson didn't last that long, he was back in the house by then!

And ta-dah! The beautiful finished masterpiece!
