Impressions

Yesterday we took the boys down the the dental school and Lance took some impressions of their hands.  Parker didn't want to do it, but strangely after watching Kaeson do it, he couldn't wait for it to be his turn.  Kaeson didn't like it one bit!  We first tried to do Kaeson's foot, but it was too big for the bowl and his toes stuck out of the end.  He didn't like the cold, so he wiggled a lot, which made his not turn out near as good as Parker's, but that's okay.  Parker held really still and his looks pretty good.  They are far from professional, but I think they turned out pretty cute!  I wish we had thought of it when Kaeson was a newborn, so we could have his tiny newborn hand, but at least we did it now.

What we've been up to

It's been a while since I've updated, so there's a lot to fill in.  In the last few weeks, we have taken two trips to the zoo, Parker got a new bunk bed, Kaeson is pulling himself up onto furniture, and Kaeson got his first ear infection. Here's a few pictures of our happenings. Warning:  long post!  You don't have to read it; a lot of this is for my records.

Parker at the zoo.  The gorillas are his favorite part of the zoo. I finally got a zoo pass, so I have a feeling the zoo and us are going to be good friends over the next few months.

Along with Kaeson's newfound mobility has come a whole new bunch of struggles in the napping department.  As soon as you lay him down, he gets up and crawls all around his crib. For the first few days, I would go in and try to lay him back down, only to have him get right back up again; and we would repeat this about five times with every nap. It breaks my heart to walk in there and see him standing at the end of his crib just staring at the door and crying! Finally, I had to just let him figure it out and cry.  So because he moves all over the place until exhaustion hits, he falls asleep in some interesting positions as seen above.  It's so cute to see how he falls asleep!

Between Parker being on the top bunk of a bunk bed and Kaeson pulling himself up in his crib, we have discovered another new sleeping challenge. Parker loves to pop up out of his bed and play peek-a-boo with Kaeson, and Kaeson LOVES it!  He giggles so hard.  It's usually only a problem at naptime, because Kaeson goes to sleep earlier than Parker at night.  So Parker now naps in our room!  Last night, they both went down at the same time.  About ten minutes after laying Kaeson down, Lance and I heard him burst into his adorable little giggle, followed by a really loud bang, so we went to investigate.  We walked in and Parker was rubbing his head, and I asked what happened, he said, "I bumped my head"  I asked how he bumped his head (already knowing the answer), and he looked down at Kaeson and said, "um.....playing peek-a-boo."  I couldn't even get mad, because Parker is so adorable!  We left them alone, and for the next half hour or so we would hear another random little giggle from Kaeson.  I wasn't sure if I should separate them, but I decided to just let it go for a while and hope that eventually they went to sleep.  Eventually exhaustion took over and Kaeson just laid down and slept. When I went in after Kaeson feel asleep, Parker was all sad and told me, "Kaeson's not playing anymore."  I wonder how long it will be before our sibling adventures turn from cute and fun to fighting and screaming?!

One of Parker's new favorite things to play with Kaeson is wrestling!  As you can see, Kaeson's not quite sure it's his favorite just yet!

This is Parker and Ella, a little girl I babysit once a week.  She is so sweet and we love having her!  She is Parker's best bud!  He loves it when she is here, but he gets frustrated, because he thinks she should follow his every command, and well, she doesn't!

My baby is crawling!  He just started Sunday, and he's still very slow and deliberate, but he's getting better and definitely starting to get all around the room.  I love watching him figure it all out!  He looks way too small to be moving around if you ask me, because he is a little runt, but man is it cute!

Parker's 3rd Birthday

It's hard to believe, but my little Parker just turned three! It makes me so sad that he is growing up so fast!  I miss my sweet little baby that would sit and cuddle all day!  Now he is three and he talks back and has a mind of his own!  Okay, I can't complain, because he is turning into a pretty great little boy full of hugs, kisses, and "I love you"s.  I am so blessed to have such a great little guy!  He is usually very sweet,  a wonderful big brother and mommy's little helper. We love you Parker!

Parker is a lucky boy being born during Spring Break, we are always on break and with family, so he always seems to get a few parties!  This year was no exception.  He had a party in Casper with almost the whole Taylor family, a party in Douglas with most of the Anderson bunch, and a party at Chuck E. Cheese with just us.

Cheese prize: Cotton Candy!  Lance was so determined to find the games where you earn the most tickets, and finally found one that he figured out exactly how to beat and won like 400 tickets.  He was so excited to have enough tickets for something cool. Of course, it was nowhere near enough for anything cool!  We got up to the counter, and all Parker wanted was a little spider that cost 10 tickets!  He got his spider and was as happy as could be!  So we let him get some cotton candy and called it a night.  This picture pretty well shows how he felt about his Chuck E. Cheese trip!

He got this tool set for his birthday, and I just thought he looked so cute with his little tool belt on.  As soon as we got it on, he went right to work fixing everything in sight.  So cute!

Explorer.

Grandma and Grandpa Anderson had this little Dora the Explorer backpack in their toys. Parker doesn't even watch Dora, but he knew exactly what to do with it.  He put the backpack on, pulled out the map, and led his cousins on many explorations.

Lance is on Spring Break this week, but since the kids and I kind of already took a vacation, we just stuck around home all week.  Thursday, we went downtown to the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory.  It was very cool to take the tour of the factory and learn all about it.  They have some batting cages there, and little kids can do tee ball. 

Trip to Wyoming

For the last two weeks, Parker, Kaeson, and I traveled out west yet again.  My little brother, Brandon, had his regional and state basketball tournaments, so we decided to go and show our support.  Although his team didn't do as well as we would have liked, Brandon did awesome, and it was nice to have an excuse to spend time with family.  Because the tournaments were both in Casper, which is just 45 minutes from Douglas, I was able to spend a lot of time with Lance's family as well as my own.  My older brother, Ryan, and his son, Talan, also came up from Arizona.  It was so nice to visit with them, as I haven't seen them since last May.

4 of the 6 Taylor grandkids. Parker, Kaeson, Talan, and Hallie.  Peyton wasn't really in the mood, and Camryn stayed in Arizona with Jess.  As you can imagine, getting 5 children, 3 and under ready for bed in only 2 hotel rooms was quite an adventure.  I'm not sure how my mom pulled it off, but she is basically a superwoman, so she did it, pretty much all by herself.

Parker with two of his other cousins, Chase and Sawyer.  They had so much fun running all over Grandma's house for two days straight.  Parker was so sad when they had to go back home.

It was a good trip, and I'm so happy we went, but I'm even happier to be back home!  

Like Father, Like Son?

We just found this picture in a pile of Lance's old pictures, so I am assuming it isLance as a baby?  We don't w for sure.  My first thought when I saw it, is that looks just like Kaeson, which surprised me, because everyone is always telling me Kaeson looks just like me.  So, I thought I would compare it side by side to a picture of our little Kaeson, and now I'm not so sure.  What do you think?
